  • Tim began studying movement and mechanics in movement in college in 1986, He began teaching it in 1991 under the supervision and training of Ron Fletcher.
  • He bought studio in 1993 (previous owner was Ron Fletcher who studied with Joseph Pilates for 25 years and did special workshops in Denver 4 times per year and tutor at the studio he taught in and Tim bought it).
  • He has been teaching Pilates work for 34 years.
  • Tim workes with students from a young age to 95 y.o. He helps young students to increase their strength and stability for agility and stamina in sports performance, and also guides them through sports injury and recovery. He helps adults, desiring to increase their daily and sports performance and improve their agility and sports mechanics and also recover from performance and other injuries.
  • He enjoys adapting the Pilates work to each client to help them understand how they personally use their body mechanics and how they can capitalize on their strengths and improve their weaknesses.

Founder & Head Coach

Max Ivchenko

Max Ivchenko is the founder and head coach of MITA Tennis Academy. With over 30 years of experience in tennis, an RSPA coaching certification, and a master tennis coaching degree, Max brings elite-level expertise to every session. His career has spanned playing, coaching, and managing tennis programs, giving him a depth of knowledge and perspective.

Max's coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every player is unique and deserves a training plan built specifically for them. He is known for his attention to detail, his ability to diagnose and correct technical issues quickly, and his talent for building confidence in players of all levels. Whether working with a young beginner in the First Stage program or a competitive adult refining their serve, Max brings the same level of dedication to every lesson.

Coach — All Ages & Skill Levels

John Robin

John Robin brings over six years of coaching experience and more than a decade of competitive playing experience to the MITA team. As the number one singles player at Smoky Hill High School and a four-year varsity club team player at Metro Denver School of Mines, John understands the demands of competitive tennis at both the high school and collegiate levels in Metro Denver.

John works with players of all ages and skill levels, bringing a patient and encouraging coaching style that makes him effective with beginners and intermediate players alike. His background in Metro Denver high school and college tennis gives him valuable insight into what it takes to succeed at those levels, making him an excellent resource for teen players preparing for varsity competition.

Coach — Competitive Youth Specialist

Alex Hodzelykh

Alex Hodzelykh is one of the most accomplished young coaches in Metro Denver tennis community. With over 13 years of playing experience, his competitive resume includes a Ukrainian National Championship in doubles at age 10, the number one singles position at Chaparral High School, a third-place finish at the Metro Denver State Championship, and winning regional tournaments.

Alex holds a UTR of 9.3 and received a top scholarship offer from Hastings College, where he continues his academic and athletic career. He specializes in working with young athletes and conducting sparring sessions, bringing energy and intensity to training that pushes players to improve. His personal experience competing at a high level gives him unique insight into the mental and tactical demands of tournaments tennis in Metro Denver.

Kids Coach — Development Expert

Margarita Kaznakhovskaia

Margarita Kaznakhovskaia specializes in introducing young children to tennis and building the foundational skills they need for long-term success. With over three years of coaching experience and more than 15 years of playing experience, including work with young players in both Indiana and Colorado, Margarita is an expert in early childhood tennis development.

She focuses specifically on Red and Orange Ball development, working with the youngest members of our academy on coordination training and strong technical fundamentals. Her patient and nurturing coaching style makes her the ideal choice for parents looking to introduce their children to tennis in a supportive, encouraging environment.

Movement Specialist

Tim Zimmer — Pilates & Movement

Tim Zimmer rounds out our team as a Pilates and movement specialist with over 34 years of teaching experience. Tim began studying movement and mechanics in college in 1986 and started teaching in 1991 under the supervision of Ron Fletcher, who studied with Joseph Pilates for 25 years. Tim purchased his Pilates studio in 1993 and has been teaching the discipline ever since.

Tim works with students from young athletes to adults of all ages, helping them increase strength and stability for agility and stamina in sports performance. He also guides students through sports injury recovery. For tennis players, his work is invaluable in preventing injuries, improving court movement, and developing the core strength that powers effective strokes. He helps young students increase their strength and stability for agility and stamina, and helps adults improve their daily and sports performance and recover from injuries.

His integration with our tennis coaching team reflects MITA's commitment to developing complete athletes, not just tennis players. Tim enjoys adapting the Pilates work to each client to help them understand how they personally use their body mechanics and how they can capitalize on their strengths and improve their weaknesses.
