At MITA Tennis Academy, we believe that the best tennis development happens when players have access to a network of resources, organizations, and professionals that extend beyond the lesson court. That is why we have built partnerships with some of the most respected organizations in Denver's sports, education, and wellness community. Together with our partners, we provide our students with competitive opportunities, physical training support, quality equipment, and professional branding.
Our partnerships are carefully selected to align with MITA's mission of providing comprehensive tennis education in Englewood, Greenwood Village, Centennial, Aurora and the surrounding communities. Each partner brings unique value to our students' experience, and we are proud of these relationships and the enhanced training they create for every MITA player, from kids' programs to adult lessons.
UTR Sports is one of MITA's partners, providing our players with access to structured competitive play through their Flex League platform. UTR, which stands for Universal Tennis Rating, is the global standard for rating tennis players at every level. Their Flex League format allows players to schedule matches at their convenience, compete against opponents of similar ability, and earn a reliable, nationally recognized rating.
For MITA students, the partnership with UTR Sports means seamless access to competitive match play that complements their training. Whether you are an adult player looking to test your skills in a league setting or a junior competitor seeking match experience, UTR Flex Leagues provide the ideal platform to apply what you learn in lessons to real competition.
We encourage all of our students to participate in UTR-sanctioned events as part of their development plan. Match experience is an essential component of tennis improvement that cannot be replicated in practice alone, and our partnership with UTR Sports ensures that competitive play opportunities are always available to MITA players. Ask your coach about sparring sessions to prepare for your next match.
Game Set Match is a premier local tennis equipment store and a valued MITA partner. Having the right equipment is essential for player development and enjoyment of the sport, and Game Set Match provides our students and their families with access to quality rackets, strings, shoes, apparel, and accessories from the top brands in tennis.
Whether you are a parent purchasing your child's first junior racket, an adult player looking for a new frame to match your developing game, or a competitive athlete needing professional stringing services, Game Set Match has the expertise and inventory to help. Their knowledgeable staff understands the connection between proper equipment and on-court performance.
At MITA, we frequently refer families to Game Set Match when students need equipment advice beyond what our coaches provide during lessons. The combination of MITA's coaching expertise and Game Set Match's equipment knowledge ensures that our players have every advantage as they develop their game. Not sure where to start? Tennis is one of the most physically demanding sports, requiring explosive speed, rotational power, core stability, flexibility, and endurance. That is why our partnership with Technically Pilates is such an important part of the MITA experience. Technically Pilates, led by Tim Zimmer, provides specialized movement training that complements tennis instruction by strengthening the physical foundation that supports on-court performance.
Tim Zimmer brings over 34 years of Pilates teaching experience to our partnership. He began studying movement and mechanics in college in 1986 and started teaching in 1991 under the supervision of Ron Fletcher, who studied directly with Joseph Pilates for 25 years. Tim purchased his Pilates studio in 1993 and has been guiding students of all ages ever since.
Tim works directly with MITA students, helping young athletes increase their strength and stability for agility and stamina in sports performance. For adult players, his work provides the flexibility and injury prevention support that allows them to play pain-free and perform at their best. Tim also guides students through sports injury recovery, making his expertise invaluable for players returning to the court after setbacks.
He enjoys adapting the Pilates work to each client to help them understand how they personally use their body mechanics and how they can capitalize on their strengths and improve their weaknesses. This personalized approach mirrors MITA's own coaching philosophy and makes the partnership a natural fit.
For tennis players, the integration of Pilates into a training program can improve court movement, prevent common tennis injuries, and develop the core strength that powers effective strokes and serves. This holistic approach to athlete development is one of the features that sets MITA apart from other tennis programs in the state. Read more about Tim on our coaching team page.
MITA is honored to support the Cherry Creek High School boys tennis team, the Bruins. For several years our students have been part of this tennis family, and we are proud to continue that journey together.
The Bruins have won 47 state championships, including a legendary run of 19 straight titles that began in 1972. The team also put together 316 consecutive dual match wins — at the time, the second-longest winning streak in any high school sport in the country.
Head coach Art Quinn has led the program since 2015 and has kept it at an elite level, winning multiple 5A state championships and earning Coach of the Year honors. Our students know him as a coach with a big heart who lives and breathes tennis, and every conversation with him brings energy and a real passion for the game.
Read the full story →MITA and Novastar Academy have joined forces to bring together sport, education, and early childhood development. Novastar provides childcare, preschool, and elementary education for children from six weeks to twelve years old at its campuses in Centennial and Englewood.
Our goal is to introduce young children to tennis in a fun, safe, and age-appropriate setting where learning feels like play. Through tennis activities, movement games, coordination exercises, and teamwork, children build important physical and social skills while discovering the joy of an active lifestyle.
The early years are when confidence, balance, coordination, communication, and independence take shape. Tennis supports that growth while encouraging children to listen, focus, take turns, work as a team, and challenge themselves. The same approach shapes our Little Kids program for ages 6 and under.
Read about the partnership →Cherry Creek Academy is a public charter school in Englewood serving students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Founded in 1995, the school follows the Core Knowledge curriculum and is known for its focus on academic achievement, character development, community service, and strong parental involvement.
MITA is proud to partner with Cherry Creek Academy and its Eagles community, giving students and families a way to discover tennis and stay active alongside a demanding academic program.
Tennis reinforces the values the school teaches every day — responsibility, respect, integrity, and diligence — and we look forward to growing this partnership. Families from the school can start with kids' tennis lessons at nearby courts in Englewood.
