Behind every successful tennis player is a great coach. Our tennis coaches in Denver represent the highest standard of tennis education: an RSPA-certified head coach with over 30 years of experience, supported by a staff that combines competitive playing experience, coaching skill, and a genuine passion for developing players of all ages. We teach at courts in Englewood, Greenwood Village, Cherry Hills Village, Aurora and nearby communities. When you train with MITA, you are not just getting a lesson — you are gaining a team of professionals invested in your success.
Our approach to building a coaching team is simple: we hire people who love tennis, understand the science of player development, and have the communication skills to make every lesson productive and enjoyable. We believe that the relationship between coach and player is the foundation of effective training, and we take great care to match each student with a coach whose style and expertise align with their goals.

Tim began studying movement and mechanics in college in 1986 and started teaching in 1991 under the supervision of Ron Fletcher, who studied with Joseph Pilates for 25 years. Tim purchased his Pilates studio in 1993 and has been teaching the discipline ever since.
Tim works with students from young athletes to adults of all ages, helping them build strength and stability for agility and stamina, and guiding them through sports injury recovery. For tennis players, his work is invaluable in preventing injuries, improving court movement, and developing the core strength that powers effective strokes. Tim's studio, Technically Pilates, is one of MITA's partner organizations.
His integration with our tennis coaching team reflects MITA's commitment to developing complete athletes, not just tennis players. Tim enjoys adapting the Pilates work to each client to help them understand how they personally use their body mechanics and how they can capitalize on their strengths and improve their weaknesses.
The quality of a tennis program is ultimately defined by the quality of its coaches. At MITA, every coach shares the same commitment to personalized instruction, continuous improvement, and creating a positive training environment. Our diverse team ensures that every player — from the youngest beginner to the most experienced competitor — can find a coach who understands their needs and can help them achieve their goals.
The team also includes coaches Becky Gelfer and George Robin. We keep lesson ratios small — private, split, and group formats — so every student receives individual attention. This team approach is one of the reasons MITA has earned consistently five-star reviews from families and continues to grow as a trusted tennis program in Colorado.
